Betty L. Evans, 87, died Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice, Defiance, Ohio.
Born on May 1, 1928 in Ashland, Ohio, Betty was the daughter of the late Martin and Mary (Ash) Wasson.
On May 1, 1948, she was united in marriage to Robert D. Evans and he preceded her in death on November 30, 2002.
Betty has worked at Crook Miller and waitressed at the Yellowstone Restaurant, both in Hicksville.
Betty was a member of the First Church of Christ in Hicksville, Eagles Auxiliary Aerie #2556, Hicksville American Legion Auxiliary, VFW in Antwerp, Ohio and she was active at the Hicksville Senior Center.
Betty is survived by a son, Bob (Vicki) Evans; three daughters, Mary (Lance Donat) Evans, Jeanne (David Fine) Evans, Anita (Lee) Daniels; eight grandchildren, Jason, Nicole, Dusty, Jamey Evans, Joshua Fine, Amber Wright, Ashley Headley and Austin Daniels, (12) great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Jeryln Evans; brothers, Martin Wasson, Ron Wasson; sisters, Sherry Wilburn, Linda Till, Ev Braun and Jane Rork.
She was preceded in death by a son, Leonard Evans; sisters, Fran Null, Marcia Spitler, Dianne Rabbitt, Carolyn Halligan; and a brother Richard Dillow.
Funeral services for Betty will be Saturday at 11:00 at Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville with Pastor Jerold Tear officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 with an Eagles Auxiliary service at 7:00
Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville.
