The first responders of Paulding, Antwerp, and Payne did a great job in this emergency sitation.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Van Wert Post is investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred on May 14, 2015 at approximately 7:22 PM on State Route 49 near milepost 9 in Paulding County.
A 2003 Buick Regal LS, driven by Kimberly A. Staudt, 20, of Piqua, Ohio was traveling southbound on State Route 49 when Ms. Staudt’s vehicle drifted off of the right side of the road. The driver overcorrected, traveled left of center and continued off of the east edge of the roadway striking a utility pole before coming to final rest.
The rear seat passenger, Maunel T. Robles Jr., 20, of Cleveland, Ohio was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Paulding County Coroner due to injuries sustained in the traffic crash.
Staudt and the front seat passenger, Anna V. Penny, 26 of Covington, Ohio sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of the crash.
The Highway Patrol was also assisted on scene by Paulding County Sheriffs Office, Paulding County Coroner, Payne Fire and EMS, Antwerp EMS, Paulding County Prosecutors Office, Gideons Towing, AEP, and Life Flight.
