This year is the third time the village of Hicksville has hosted the Northwestern Ohio Volunteer Firemen’s Association Convention. This event began on Friday, June 19 and finished at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The first year for Hicksville to host this was in 1933, then again in 1990. The association was founded in 1874.
The 141st convention parade lasted nearly an hour Saturday afternoon with WPAU of Paulding announcing the event. Over 100 firetrucks from the past and present were displayed to the onlookers of High Street and the rest of the village.
