Dorothy J. Vogel age 81 died 2:10 PM Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne Indiana.
Dorothy was born in Van Wert County Ohio on March 5, 1934 the daughter of Jacob and Regina (Werling) Schaeper. On July 18, 1953 she married Vern H. Vogel, who died on January 27, 2009. She was a member of the Divine Mercy Catholic Parish of Paulding, Ohio where she was very active as a religious education teacher and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a 4-H Leader and work for ISS of Paulding, Ohio.
Surviving are four daughters: Rose (Pat Bowers) Sunday, Rita (Jeff) Engle, Ruth (Bill) Grahm and Regina Vogel. Ten sons: Vern “Butch” (Patsy) Vogel, Paul Vogel, Tyrone (Terri) Vogel, Dana (Leslie) Vogel, Tony (Kellie) Vogel, Mark Vogel, Alan (Lori) Vogel, Robert (Dori) Vogel, Patrick (Shelly) Vogel, and Todd (Paula) Vogel. 48 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren. 2 Sisters: Joan Allemeier and Jeanette Moore.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Vern, 2 grandsons: Justin and Brandon Vogel in 2004; 2 sisters, Patricia Hoghe and Evelyn Grimmer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted 10 AM Wednesday, August 26 at Divine Mercy Catholic Parish, Paulding. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, Cecil.
Visitation will be 4-8 PM Tuesday, August 25 at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding. There will be a rosary service at 7:30 PM Tuesday. There will also be visitation at the church one hour prior to services.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations made to Divine Mercy Catholic Parish School, Payne.
