Winding down the regular season, Columbus Grove travelled to Paulding for Friday night’s game. It was pleasant weather from beginning to the end, unusual for this time of year. This game numbers were switched around. Corbin Edwards was wearing the #17 jersey in memory of fellow football player Skyler Huth who was killed in an auto accident right after graduation earlier this year. Anthony Garcia wore #2, Edwards regular number.
The Panthers have struggled this year for a win and Columbus Grove had a record of 5-3 going into this match.
The first two touchdowns were by Columbus Grove followed by Corbin Edwards escaping a tackle attempt to score in the second quarter. The Bulldogs came back with another touchdown, making the score 21-7 and then Corbin Edwards nailed another touchdown on a 50+ yard run touchdown jumping in and out of obstacles, and amazingly driving all the way to the field goal in the high speed chase.
The second half Columbus Grove scored the balance of the points to finish the game 47-12.
Paulding will go on to battle Crestview on Friday, October 30 at the Knight’s field in Convoy.
