The Allen County Public Library’s Audio Reading Service nominated Bruce Haines for the Central Lion Club’s 2015 Frank Celarek Sight Service Award. Georgean Johnson-Coffey, Manager of the Audio Reading Service, said in her nomination “in his five-plus years of volunteer service, Bruce has proved his dedication to the Audio Reading Service purpose — providing audio access to printed information for people who have visual, physical, learning or language challenges to independent reading.”
Haines reads the live broadcast of the Journal-Gazette on Sunday mornings. The local news is most important to listeners. He has also recruited other family members to become readers for Audio Reading Service.
