The Lady Hornets travelled to the Woodlan Strautman gymnasium on Saturday, November 14. Woodlan has strong shooters but the rebounding has a little to be desired.
The game started in a close match. The first quarter ended at 9-8 with Angola in the lead. Even the second quarter wasn’t bad when it finished the half at 22-18. The northern team was more rounded when 11 of their team scored points vs only five on Woodlan’s.
The third quarter was painful for the lady Warriors when a 16 point scoring difference made the game for Angola. Even with the fourth quarter scoring spree by Ellie Kayser, it was not enough to stop the offense of the Hornets, though outscoring 17-13. At one point in the fourth quarter Angola was over 20 points in the lead. Woodlan, though, narrowed the difference by the end of the game to only 16.
Rain Hinton had a good night too when scoring 20 points—the highest of either teams individual scorning. Sam Houser scored 2; Ellie Kayser 10; Kayla Reidenbach 1; Samantha Voors 8.
The final score for the night was 57-41. Nineteen of the points scored for Woodlan were foul shots, while Angola had 14 points from fouls.
Score by the Quarter:
Angola — 9 13 22 13=57
Woodlan — 8 10 6 17=41
