Mount Vernon Nazarene University’s Goliards Chamber Choir will present their fall concert Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. in Thorne Performance Hall in the R.R. Hodges Chapel/Fine Arts Building. The concert is free and the community is invited and encouraged to attend.
Goliards, an a cappella chamber choir, consists of 20 auditioned members under the direction of Mrs. Elizabeth Barrett. This concert, titled “There Will Be Rest,” will include a variety of selections with differing texts, spanning many eras. As we enter into a time of Thanksgiving and the Advent season, this concert will focus on resting in God’s presence as we prepare for his coming.
Goliards is one of three choral ensembles at MVNU. They perform their own fall and spring concerts and join with other ensembles in various events such as the annual Homecoming concert and the Christmas Festival. Members represent a variety of academic majors and denominational backgrounds.
