Eileen D. Shaffer, 96 of Cecil, passed away Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015 at Vancrest of Antwerp.
Eileen was born in Paulding on June 13, 1919, a daughter of the late Blanche (Baldwin) and Brice Highland.
She was a valued employee at Meijer, Fort Wayne and was a volunteer at Hicksville Hospital.
Eileen was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.
On Nov. 21, 1934 she married Gerald Shaffer. He died in 1997.
She will be sadly missed by her son, Don (Sharon) of Cecil; 6 grandchildren, Tammy Johanns, Donnie & Jody Shaffer, Jim & mark Breiniger & Jill Weihl; 14 great grandchildren and 26 great great grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were her daughters, Linda Lou & Karol Kay and brothers, Merle & Karl Highland.
Viewing is Wednesday, 3 to 8 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp.
Her funeral service is at Bethel United Methodist Church, Cecil on Thursday, 11 am with viewing one hour prior.
She will be laid to rest at Bethel Cemetery.
