James Stanley Bridge, 80, of Woodburn, passed away Monday, December 28, 2015 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Harley and Marie (Luecke) Bridge. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Woodburn. He was the previous owner of Bridge Sprayer and Trailer Sales, where he continued to work in sales and management after his retirement. He was a member of Woodburn Community Historical Society, Woodburn Chamber of Commerce, Woodburn Lions Club, Beta Sigma PSI Lutheran Fraternity, and he and his wife were a presenting couple for Lutheran Marriage Encounter from 1983 to 1999.
He is survived by wife of 60 years, Beverly (Sievers) Bridge; children, Melody (Dennis) Schlie of Spencerville, Tamara (Dean) Koontz of Fort Wayne, and Randy (Carolyn) Bridge and Mary Ann Unsicker both of Woodburn; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Todd Unsicker in 2014.
Funeral service is 1 p.m. Thursday at Christ Lutheran Church, 4412 Park St., Woodburn with calling one hour prior. Pastor Timothy Edwards officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 Wednesday at the church. Burial in the church cemetery. Preferred memorial are to Woodburn Christian Children’s Home or Woodburn Lutheran School. Arrangements by E.
