On Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 11:30 a.m., Woodlan High School Senior Mitchell VanBrocklin will sign a letter of intent to continue his football career at Marian University, located in Indianapolis, Indiana. During his four-year career at Woodlan, Mitchell was instrumental in the resurgence of the Woodlan football program. This past season, he led the Warriors to a 13-1 record, winning the ACAC regular season conference championship, and making the school’s first semi-state appearance since 1981. A four year letter winner, Mitchell moved from tight-end to running back after his sophomore season, and set the career rushing and touchdown records at Woodlan with 3,728 yards rushing, and scoring 48 touchdowns. Mitchell also led the defense playing various positions, linebacker, defensive end, and defensive tackle throughout the course of his career. A consummate team player, Mitchell also excels in the classroom, as he is ranked #1 in the Senior Class.
