Michael L. Mason, 56, of Woodurn passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Parkview Regional Medical Center.
Mike was born in Fort Wayne on March 15, 1960, the son of the late Barbara Ellen (Malfait) and Carl Wayne Mason.
He was known as “Mike the Mover” at Parkview Hospital, where he worked since 1998. Mike loved his family & community, serving on the Woodburn Fire Department for 27 years and also had served on the Woodburn City Council. Mike loved to hunt & fish, but was equally happy conversing with friends.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Julie (Atchley), whom he married Aug 3, 1978; daughter, Nicole (Ryan) Jewell and grandsons, Xander & Jaxson all of Harlan.
His funeral service is at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W. River St., Antwerp, Ohio at 11 am on Monday, with viewing one hour prior.
Friends are welcome to gather at the Woodburn Fire Department after Mike’s funeral for a celebration of his life.
Viewing is also Sunday, 2 – 6 pm at Dooley Funeral Home.
