Gary Klopfenstein, of Haviland, Ohio, has been selected as one of 20 students to win the 2016 Outstanding Senior Award from the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) at The Ohio State University. Award winners are selected via a competitive process, and are evaluated on excellence and demonstrated personal and professional growth in the areas of academic scholarship, student organization leadership, and involvement in the university and the broader community. Klopfenstein, is a graduating senior in Sustainable Plant Systems. He has been an active member of the college ambassador team for two years and has been involved with Collegiate Young Farmers. Klopfenstein has also been heavily involved in coordinating ‘Experience OSU For A Day Visits.’ He expanded his experiences by completing internships with Mercer Landmark, Beck’s Hybrids, and Helena Chemical. After graduation, Klopfenstein will be working for AgReliant Genetics. The Outstanding Senior Awards was presented at the CFAES Recognition Banquet on April 7, 2016.
