Through the generous support of the Paulding County Foundation and the Payne Branch Friends of the Library, work has begun on the 86′ x 6.5′ foot mural on the side of the Payne Library. Ten students started the work this past weekend, measuring and marking the six-section community art piece entitled “The Story of Payne.” These dedicated art students spent Saturday, May 7, painting the first two coats of background colors on the piece, allowing time for the mural to dry before the afternoon downpour of rain. They will pick up their brushes once again this coming Saturday morning, May 14, 9am-noon (weather permitting) as the begin to paint the large objects that represent the history of their community.
