The Paulding Soil and Water Conservation District would like to invite the community to the Paulding County Fair to our Paulding SWCD booth. The fair booth will be open Tuesday-Thursday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and is located outside the swine barn. We are going to have kids’ activities each day and are giving free popcorn. The booth will feature current programs being offered, as well as photos from the various activities and events the Paulding SWCD has done throughout the year. The first annual Paulding SWCD photo contest is being judged by voters’ choice at the fair. Please come out and vote for your favorite photo taken at the Black Swamp Nature Center. Our kids’ activities start out on Tuesday with youth getting the opportunity to create their own cover crop buddy to take home and grow their own homemade chia pet using cover crop seeds. On Wednesday, kids will learn about water erosion and be able to see a live demonstration using the stream table. After learning about erosion, youth are invited to make their very own pet rock to take home with them. To finish off the week on Thursday, youth will learn about pollinators and create their very own tie-dye butterfly creature to take home with them. Please stop by our fair booth to learn more about the Paulding Soil and Water Conservation District and get some more information about various programs available to producers in Paulding County. See you at the Paulding County Fair June 13-18th.
