Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) helped welcome veterans to the National Mall as part of the Flag City Honor Flight’s trip to Washington. Honor Flights take veterans to see the memorials that were built in honor of their service at no cost to the veterans. The Flag City Honor Flight organization is based in Findlay and helps plan trips for veterans from around the region. “We enjoy our freedom and way of life due to the countless sacrifices made by the men and women that dutifully served our country in conflict,” said Latta. “The veterans on this Honor Flight were able to see up close the beautiful memorials that stand as a tribute to their service. Words can’t fully express our appreciation for their defense of our nation, but the Honor Flight program has been one important way to honor our veterans and their sacrifices.”
