Antwerp Conservation Club (ACC) recently held two shooting events. On June 4th, a 40 target 22LR Rifle Silhouette shoot. This event was put together by club members Aaron Kohler and Keith Mueller. There was 12 participants ready to test and hone their skills. The targets were set up at 25, 50, 75 and 100 yards. Ten targets were placed at each yardage. Each yardage used a different size target to keep the level of difficulty the same. The scores where written down and compared at the end. Several participants shoot the course a second time. The shooters brought a wide selection of rifles, new, old, open sights, optics and one pistol. The afternoon was filled with fun and laughter. Drinks and hot dogs were available. The best shot of the day was with the ketchup dispenser (Trevor). A little more ketchup than the hotdog could handle.
On June 11th, a 22LR Pistol fun shoot was held with nine people participating. This event was put together and run by ACC club members Gary Mabis, Aaron Kohler and Keith Mueller. There was five stages set up including polymer knock downs, moving/swinging targets and paper target games. The targets ranged from 5 to 35 yds. Timing, concentration and skills were put to the test. The wind was a nuisance as it gust to 20+ mph. The task of the day became keeping targets in place and in the upright start position. Several shooters made comments on how they wanted to take the score of the targets knocked down by the wind prior to their turn. The participants played a friendly game of one on one Battleship. Door prizes where handed out along with a 50/50 drawing.
Many local businesses donated door prizes: Kenn Feld Group of Woodburn (Mike Carnahan and Nick Fidler), Red Angel Pizza-Hicksville and Donald Mozena. Vulcraft of ST Joe Indiana supplied the safety equipment used for these events. These events are great way to hang out with friends and make new ones. I’m looking forward to the next ones. Check out our website and Facebook to keep up on recent and upcoming events. Hope to see you there.
