The first annual Redneck RiverFeast took place at Five Span Inn next to the Auglaize River on Saturday, June 25. Beginning at 1:00 p.m. was exciting corn hole tournament in the hot sun. Campers began arriving on Thursday and setup under the trees along the beautiful river. BBQ Express was on site selling their meat. Pete Schlegel was in attendance with his band and they started around 9:00 p.m. Two people volunteered to take me on a short river tour. David Corwin and Estest Mann navigated the pontoon around the islands and back to the sand bar where a pre-concert was being played by the Muddy River Band. While out there everyone was celebrating Van Hanenkratt’s Birthday! There was a lot of revelry happening that included lots of fun at the Five Span. Judy Shawver is the owner of the Five Span. She and her son Daniel setup the events for people to enjoy for the weekend.
