This year the city of New Haven turns 150. A Celebration is planned for Thursday, July 7th at Schnelker Park, 956 Park Ave., New Haven, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Come and enjoy Bounce Houses, games provided by the Parks Department, live music performed by the Alumni Band, and much more. Along with New Haven turning 150, the Parks Department will be turning 60. They plan on having hamburgers and hotdogs, along with potato chips. It is hoped that the new Schnelker Park Band Shell will be dedicated that day as well. After that enjoy a piece of birthday cake provided by New Haven Bakery, Richard’s Restaurant, Hall’s Commissary Restaurant, and New Haven’s Krogers. A special ceremony honoring Allan Dougal, a medal of honor recipient during the Civil War, will be held at 6:00 p.m. Come and help us celebrate!
