Nancy A. Essex, 76, formerly of Hicksville, died Monday, July 25, 2016 at VanCrest of Payne Assisted Living.
Born in Kosciusko County, Indiana, Nancy was the daughter of the late Harold and Annabelle (Minnear) Ferverda.
She was a 1958 graduate of Southside High School, Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
Nancy was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Hicksville, the Red Hat Club and the Lady Bug Club. She was a swim instructor for little kids.
Nancy is survived by her family; Bud Essex, Bruce Essex and Lori (Joe) Sarnes; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren; and a brother, Michael Ferverda.
Funeral services for Nancy will be Monday at 11:00 at St. John Lutheran Church, Hicksville with visitation one hour prior to the service. Visitation will also be Sunday from 2-6 at Smith & Brown Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery, Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
