The Huber Opera House has something for everyone this fall beginning with the Senior Saints concert entitled Walkin’ by Faith in the USA on Thursday, September 22 at 7:00 p.m. Through song and story we will celebrate the joys and privileges of living in this country. We will acknowledge the fact that we are ambassadors from God to those around and will affirm His presence with us every step of the way.
Patriotic songs in this program include You’re a Grand Old Flag, This is My Country, This Land is Your Land, and God Bless America. Songs of faith are Under His Wing, Moment by Moment, Until Then, and It Will be Worth it All.
The Senior Saints consist of over 80 singers, ages 60-92 and from July through September they will present 22 concerts. Sponsored by Grabill Missionary Church, the Senior Saints represent 34 churches. Each year the program is new and written and directed by Marsha Wright, who will be at the piano.
On October 7-9, Huber Productions will be bringing you their production of The Odd Couple: female version, starring some of our audience favorites performing on stage. Friday and Saturday includes a dinner at 6:30 catered by Grants and Sunday, 2:30, will be only the show.
Unclouded Day quartet will be performing on October 16 at 2:30 and will bring us contemporary vocal settings of traditional and gospel songs and hymns, as well as several instrumental features. Expect to hear many of your favorite traditional hymns such as Amazing Grace, Because He Lives, God Bless America and How Great Thou Art offered in unique, contemporary arrangements!
We have Lynn Trefzger, ventriloquist/comedienne, on October 22 at 7:00 p.m. Lynn will arrive with a trunk full of zany characters that have accompanied her to stages throughout the country. Her off-the-wall audience interplay is riotously funny, and her performance is tailored for family audiences.
