Twenty eight Woodlan students, community, and farm family members recently united at the Schlatter Farms to help clean-up a soybean field that was in the path of the recent tornado that went through South of Harlan, Indiana. Tornado alley wreaked havoc upon everything in its path leaving debris strewn all over. Harvest is fast approaching for this field making combining the field in its present condition impossible. Debris peppered the field with the tornado’s devastation. In total, several flatbed trailer loads of debris were picked up helping make this field combine ready.
Helping out was Woodlan students who represented several organizations including Woodlan FFA, Woodlan Elementary Service Club, and the Woodlan High School Service Club. Also helping was the Woodburn Children’s home, and the Woodburn Lions Club with this act of community servitude.
