After hundreds of hours of practice, hard work and dedication, the Spirit of Woodlan Marching Band advanced to and participated in the ISSMA State Finals on Oct. 29th at Lucas Oil Stadium where they placed 5th out of the top Indiana bands.
The band has also been chosen by our State Representative, Marlin Stutzman, to represent Northeastern Indiana and East Allen County Schools in the 2017 Independence Day Parade in Washington D.C.
The band boosters and the community have been working diligently over the past several months to raise the funds needed to replace the old, out dated and deteriorated uniforms in effort to ensure our kids look their best and represent our community well. The goal is approximately $30,000 to fund the new uniforms and with the help of local individuals and businesses, we are NEARLY HALF WAY THERE!
Donations can be mailed to the Woodlan Band Boosters at PO Box 23, Woodburn IN 46797 or donations can also be made through the YouCaring.com website.
Another upcoming fundraiser for the uniform fund will be a mini family photo session taking place on Nov 19th and 20th from 9 am to 5 pm at Clover Printing in Harlan IN. (16840 SR 37-Across from the Harlan Cafe). Each session is $60 and includes 10 digital images, 20 Christmas cards (various templates available), and a full digital release. 100% of proceeds will benefit the uniform fundraiser.
