December 30 marked the last game for both Woodlan and Wayne Trace boys basketball for 2016. The night before the ladies played against each other at the Warrior home court while tonight’s game was at the Palace.
This game started with Woodlan’s Deontae Biggs tipping the ball to his team. The first basket was missed and Wayne Trace got the first basket. A three pointer by Brady Stabler was next followed by Woodlan getting their first two points in this fast paced game. Both teams were working much of their magic from the outside. Between Woodlan and Wayne Trace over 60 points were from 3 point field goals in the game. The first quarter ended with the home team leading 27-12.
In the second block of time, both teams played a game that was similar to the first. The Warriors posted 11 points and Wayne Trace had 24 for a halftime score of 51-23. Eli Sinn had the top steals for the game with 4, just one over Trevon McCarter’s 3.
The third period of the game Woodlan increased their numbers to 16 and the Raiders pulled back to 18. Ethan Linder was the top Three-point shooter on the home team and Micah Robin was top for Woodlan — both at 3.
The game finished at 82-57 when Woodlan, for the first time of the game, outscored Wayne Trace 18-13 for the period.
Wayne Trace made 13 of the 15 attempted foul shots, and Woodlan made 3 out of 6 of their free-throws.
