A single vehicle crash today at approximately 0850 hours injured two occupants. The crash occurred on County Road R west of County Road 11 in Bridgewater Township.
A 1997 Ford F-150, driven by Dustin L. Carnicom, age 34 of 220 West Main Street Montpelier had been eastbound on County Road R went it went off of the north side of the roadway. The vehicle then crossed back over the roadway and went off of the south side if the roadway and struck a ditch. The vehicle then rolled several times before coming to rest on its wheels.
Mr. Carnicom was transported to the Montpelier Hospital and then transferred to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Toledo. A front seat passenger, Britney Bass, age 18 of 220 West Main Street Montpelier, Ohio was flown from the scene via Life-flight air ambulance to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Toledo.
The driver was charged with OVI, driving under suspension and failure to control.
The crash remains under investigation by the Defiance Post of the State Patrol.
