Mrs. Gayle Etzler is a newly appointed EACS board member. She was appointed to serve out the last two years of her husband, Leland Etzler’s term.
Mr. Etzler resigned from the board on January 3.
Mrs. Etzler has been in education well over 30 years. She taught 31 years for EACS, most of those years at Woodlan Jr. Sr. High. She taught high school English and speech.
Gayle met Leland at Woodlan when she was a beginning teacher. They have 4 children, 2 daughters and 2 sons. One of their daughters, Lyn, is a teacher at Prince Chapman Academy and her husband, David, is a teacher at Woodlan. They also have a daughter-in-law, Hayley, who teaches at New Haven Middle School. Two of their grandchildren graduated from Woodlan, and 3 others are currently enrolled at Woodlan.
The entire family has held education in high esteem. “I feel good about our school district and I hope to do my best to contribute to its continued success”, stated Mrs. Etzler.
