Several years in the making finally brought about this day. On Wednesday, January 18 Financial Partners Federal Credit Union opened its doors to a brand new building with a community ribbon cutting.
Dave Shuey, CEO, has been working hard with the Board to make sure there will be a better experience for Financial Partners Federal Credit Union in the small town of Grabill. The builder was LaMacchia Group out of Milwaukee, WI.
Managers from both Grabill and Woodburn were there explaining the difference between the new branch and the previous location. Financial Partners represents over 3600 members and over $30 million in assets in northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio.
Representatives from the board, the Credit Union, and many members were there ready to celebrate.
Previously, the branch location was across the street, and quite small. It had one drive-up combined with an ATM. It certainly wasn’t bad because “one advantage of credit unions is they are member owned, meaning lower borrowing rates and higher dividends.” said Angie Peters, Woodburn Branch Manager.
Bringing the advantages from the small building and combining these with the new larger structure, has made it so much better for all the employees and the members. There is now 3 drive-ups – one ATM and two teller access points. There is now a larger lobby and more offices.
The new location is across the street from the previous operation center, but the access drive is located on Country Shoal Lane. “We are so pleased to begin this new building!” stated Jeanne Bailey, Grabill Branch Manager. Jeanne has been with Financial Partners for over 22 years and has watched the business change quite a bit.
There is quite a history to the Credit Union. It was started as Milan Federal Credit Union in 1965 in the parking lot of BFGoodrich. Over the years it has become much larger with multiple locations, including an ATM right at the factory.
