On Saturday, February 11 the Liberty Center Tigers came into the Jungle to compete in boys basketball. This non-conference match was heated from the beginning when Paulding came in scoring quickly with Preston Ingol, who couldn’t miss, leading the charge. At one point in the beginning Ingol had 10 of the 12 points on the board. Before the buzzer though the Tigers got their act together and scraped together a few points with 2 – 3 point field goals before the end of the first. The score was 21-17.
The second period hurt the Panthers when only 9 points was scored. The momentum started in the first by Ingol was suddenly gone. Logan Bradford scored 3 field goals and did quite well under the hoop. The Panthers defense could not hold the points back Liberty Center was now adding to the board when Jarret Krugh added 9 point from three point baskets. The half ended 30-33.
Going back from the half Paulding tied the game up for a third quarter score of 44 when Marcus Miller injected 2 field goals, one being a 3-point shot.
Ethan Rhonehouse had a good game too. In the fourth period he scored 9, adding to his 9 from the first 3 periods. The game finished 62-63 in an oh-so-close game! Good try to the Panthers.
