On Thursday night, February 16th, the Lady Raider of Wayne Trace traversed to the Tinora school district for high school girls basketball action. And action it was! The Lady Raider dominated the Ram’s court taking a 10 point lead at the end of the 1st quarter. Wayne Trace kept their lead at the half time buzzer acquiring 8 more points than their opponent in the 2nd. In the second half of the game, the scoring slowed up for both teams, but Wayne Trace still lead the scoreboard for both the 3rd and 4th. Final score of the night, 60-33 – Lady Raiders win.
With the win, Wayne Trace clinches a share of the school’s fifth Green Meadows Conference championship and the first since 2011.
At 6-1 in league play, the Raiders share the league title with Antwerp. It is the Archers’ first league championship since 1990.
In Junior Varsity play, Tinora reigned victorious against the Raiders, 44-42.
Varsity records now stand with Tinora 13-9 overall & 3-4 GMC; Wayne Trace 19-3 overall & 6-1 GMC.
