Senior Night Paulding – Falls to Defiance

The Paulding Seniors girls basketball players!

It was senior night on February 14 for the Lady Panthers. All of the young ladies have had a great time playing as a team for their favorite school and now it’s time to say, “goodbye” for the last home game of the season. These girls have some of the best attitudes around when you see they gave balloons to the seniors of their competitors as a good-will gesture.

Following the tearful senior night, the girls hit the court with the fast action team from Defiance. The Lady Bulldogs quickly got on the board with a solid 14 points in the first period. After watching the guest team wrack up points the Paulding girls started to score and ended up with 7. Senior guard Lucas Karissa scored the only 2 3-point field goals for the Lady Panthers in this game.

The second period was nearly the same as Defiance continued to run around Paulding scoring 8-17 and making the halftime score 15-31. The top scorer for Paulding Brianna Townley, hitting 5-2point field goals.

The 2nd half continued in the same fashion and Paulding added a few more points. The Lady Panthers scored 11 points in the 3rd quarter and the Bulldogs added 18. The game was pretty much over by the fourth period but it was more competitive as Paulding girls increased the defense and holding the guests to only 11 and Paulding scored 10 for the last. The home team could not cover the deficit and the game finished 36-60.
