Saturday, February 25, Harlan Christian School hosted the Hawks Invitational Tournament. The Hawks played first against the Angola Warriors. The game started out close, but the Hawks pulled ahead to win the game 64-51.
The second game was played by the Fountain City Flames and the Pierceton Woods Pumas. Fountain City won this game sending them to the championship game against the Harlan Hawks.
Before the last 2 games of the day, Harlan held a shootout and a free throw competition. In the shootout, Harlan’s Kyle Graber received runner-up. In the free throw competition, Harlan’s Dylan Atchley received runner up.
Next, was the consolation game played between the Angola Warriors and Pierceton Woods with Angola winning the game.
The championship game was between the Hawks and the Flames. This game started out as a close one, and the Fountain city Flames put up a good fight, but the Harlan Hawks proved to be too much for the Flames. The Hawks pulled ahead to win the tournament with a score of 74-59.
During this championship game, Kyle Graber scored 34 points, and 9 rebounds. Tanner Hostetler had 13 rebounds; Dylan Atchley had 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists; Austin Louden had 12 points and 6 rebounds.
The all-tourney team consisted of Austin Louden, Kyle Graber, and Dylan Atchley from HCS with Kyle Graber winning tournament MVP.
