On Thursday, March 9 the first game of Boys Basketball District III District semi-finals took place at Lima Senior High School. This match up pitted the Wayne Trace Raiders against the Bluffton Pirates. The Raiders used their aggressive offensive and defensive play to keep the court a solid Raider lead throughout the duration of the game play. The Raiders ended the night with the Districts semi-final victory and a final score of 46-32.
Wayne Trace was led by Brady Stabler with 12, Josh Kuhn with 12 and Ethan Linder with 10. Kaleb Jefferson paced Bluffton with 14 and Gabe Denecker added 9.
Ethan Linder broke two more records in Thursday’s win over Bluffton. With nine field goal attempts, he set a new record for field goal attempts in a season with 439. The old record was 435 by Rob Welch in the 1992-93 season. Also, he made six free throws to eclipse the season record for free throws made in a year. Ethan now stands at 151 on the season to break his old record of 146, set in 2014-15.
