Joseph D. Lyvers, 78, of Payne passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
Joe was born in Washington County, KY on July 14, 1938 the oldest son of the late Joseph & Marcella (Reddicks) Lyvers.
He was a member of Divine Mercy Catholic Church & Free Masons Wayne Lodge #25. Joe owned a Gulf Oil Station, worked at International Harvester & Payne Equity Exchange. He worked hard at everything he did, even earning a private pilot’s license. He loved the outdoors, fishing, golf and most of all being a loving husband, father & grandfather.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Beth Ann (McIntosh) whom he married Sept 28, 1968; children, Renee (Eric) Baker of Noblesville, IN & Allen (Tonya) Lyvers of Van Wert; siblings, Russell (Polly) of Bardstown, KY & grandchildren, Zach & Jacob Lyvers, Shayna Keipper & Emily Baker.
He is also preceded in death by his son, Joseph & siblings, Mary Ivy Bartley, Carol Adkins, Freda Rowe & Wanda Price.
Funeral Mass is Tuesday, 10 am at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 203 W. Townline, Payne.
Viewing is Monday, 4 – 7:30 pm with a vigil service at 7:30 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, 5761 SR 500, Payne, where viewing is also Tuesday, 9 – 9:30 am.
He will be laid to rest in Blue Creek Cemetery.
