Woodlan was able to dodge the raindrops over the past week to get in three games, including a pair of victories over Bellmont and Bluffton after dropping a tight decision to Adams Central.
The Warriors started the week by making the road trip to Monroe to battle the Flying Jets of Adams Central.
Adams Central scored early and held off a Woodlan threat in the top of the seventh to post a 5-4 victory over the Warriors in Allen County Athletic Conference action.
The Flying Jets plated four runs in the first inning to grab early control of the contest before adding a critical single run in the fourth to widen the margin to 5-0.
Every one of them was needed in the seventh inning as Woodlan scored four times in the top of the seventh but came up just short in the loss to their conference rivals.
Cody Bratten had a pair of hits to lead the Warrior offense, which totaled only three for the game. Reese Martin picked up the remaining Woodlan hit in the contest.
Collin Jones suffered the loss on the mound, allowing six hits and two walks while fanning five in 3-1/3 innings of work. Blake Bontrager gave up one hit in 2-2/3 innings of relief.
Woodlan then hosted ACAC rival Bellmont where the visiting Braves jumped in front before the Warriors rallied for the victory.
Bellmont scored three times in the first inning to grab an early 3-0 advantage but Woodlan cut into the deficit with a single run in the second.
After the Braves added one run in the fourth to make it 4-1, the Warriors rallied with eight runs in the bottom of the fourth to grab a 9-4 advantage that would prove to be the final.
The Warriors totaled 11 hits in the contest to overcome three errors as well.
Woodlan’s wrapped up its week with a 3-2 win over Bluffton on Thursday night outside of Woodburn.
The host Warriors scored two runs in the home half of the second inning to go in front 2-0 before Bluffton answered with a single run in the third.
After the Tigers tied the game up by scoring one run in the visitors portion of the sixth, Woodlan responded by plating one run in the bottom of the sixth for the eventual game winning 3-2 margin.
The Warriors return to action today (May 2) as Woodlan takes on Heritage at Parkview Field.
