Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) participated in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day at the Monclova Township Fire Department. Latta joined Lucas County Sheriff John Tharp at the event which provides a safe, responsible way to dispose of expired or unused prescription drugs. Earlier this week, Congressman Latta participated in a discussion at the White House on the opioid epidemic with Governor Chris Christie.
“Addressing the opioid epidemic means using every tool in the toolbox, and safely disposing of unneeded prescription drugs is an example of that,” said Latta. “Along with ensuring these drugs won’t end up on the streets, National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is an opportunity to educate the public on the dangers of addiction. I can’t say enough about the professionalism of our local law enforcement as they encounter these issues every day, and I’ll continue to work to find solutions to a problem that is affecting too many of our communities.”
