Associated Churches invites families in the community to celebrate father figures by participating in a Father’s Day 5k walk/run, Kids Fun-Run and Pancake Breakfast.
Associated Churches of Fort Wayne and Allen County is hosting a Father’s Day 5K walk/run at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2017.
The Father’s Day 5K is a family-friendly walk/run designed to celebrate father figures in our community. The day begins on site at Associated Churches, 602 E. Wayne St. Registration is at 7:30am, the Kid’s Fun-Run is at 8:00 am, and the 5K begins at 8:30 am.
Gretchen Barnett, Associated Churches’ Community Engagement Coordinator, says,
“We hold the Father’s Day 5k as a celebration to honor fathers and families. We value faith, family, and fitness and believe that healthy families make healthy communities. The Father’s Day 5k is an exciting event full of fun and activities for all ages (and multiple generations) that benefits families who are currently experiencing a hardship.”
Following the 5K race, a pancake breakfast will be served. Attendees do not need to run in order to receive pancakes. Children’s activities such as face-painting, balloon artists, etc. will be available. All children’s activities are free. Each runner will receive a commemorative dog tag and t-shirt. Awards will be presented to the top male & female runner in each age group category.

Advance packet pickup is available on Friday, June 16th from 8am to Noon and 4pm to 6pm at Associated Churches, 602 E. Wayne Street.
