The following is work scheduled to occur in the coming week on state highways in Defiance, Paulding, Putnam and Van Wert Counties.
Defiance:
State Route 18 between township Road 115 and Glenberg Road will close beginning August 8 for culvert replacements at three locations: two located west of Sherwood, one east of Sherwood. Work is being performed by Vernon Nagel Construction, Napoleon. Closures will occur consecutively as follows:
Culvert #1, located between Cicero Road and Rosedale Road, will close August 8 for 25 days. Traffic detoured onto state Route 2, state Route 249 and U.S. 127 back to state Route 18.
Culvert #2, located between Openlander Road and Behnfeldt Road, will close for 25 days following completion of culvert #1. Traffic detoured onto state Route 2, state Route 249 and U.S. 127 back to state Route 18.
Culvert #3, located between Flickinger Road and Glenberg Road, will close for 30 days following completion of culvert #2. Traffic detoured onto U.S. 24 and U.S. 127 back to state Route 18.
State Route 2, and state Route 18 between the Indiana state line and Hicksville will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for tarring and chipping of the roadway. Work is being performed by the ODOT Defiance County maintenance garage.
U.S. 24 westbound at Baltimore Street, Defiance, is restricted to one lane through the work zone through early September for repair of the roadside slope. Work is being performed by Miller Brothers, Archbold. The following upcoming closure is related to the project:
The entrance ramp from Baltimore Street to westbound U.S. 24 will be closed for the day on Monday, July 10 to allow for pavement markings and barrier wall to be placed for maintenance of traffic through the work zone. Traffic will be detoured to county Road 424 (old U.S 24) to U.S. 127 back to U.S. 24.
State Route 66 between Bowman and Watson roads, south of Defiance, closed June 5 for approximately three months for a bridge deck replacement. Traffic detoured onto state Route 613, state Route 634, state Route 15 and Carter Road back to state Route 66. Work is being performed by Vernon Nagel Inc., Napoleon. (See detour map)
U.S. 127 between state Route 18 and township Road 34, south of Sherwood, closed April 24 for 60 days for culvert replacement at two locations. The project completion has been delayed to late July due to weather. Traffic detoured onto U.S. 24, state Route 15 and state Route 18 back to U.S. 127. Work is being performed by VTF Construction, Celina.
Paulding:
Road reconstruction
State Route 637 in the village of Grover Hill closed June 5 for three months for road reconstruction. Traffic detoured onto U.S. 224, U.S. 127 and state Route 613 back to state Route 637. Work is being performed by Brenneman Excavating Inc. for the village of Grover Hill.
Pavement repairs
State Route 66 from U.S. 224 to the Defiance County line will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for the tarring and chipping of the roadway. Work is being performed by the ODOT Paulding County maintenance garage.
Putnam:
State Route 190 just north of Road T-Q, north of Fort Jennings, will close July 24 for approximately two weeks for a culvert replacement. Traffic detoured onto state Route 634 and U.S. 224 back to state Route 190. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage.
State Route 12 between Pandora and the Hancock County line will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for removal of pavement reflectors in preparation for tarring and chipping of the roadway. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage.
Van Wert:
Placement of berm stone will restrict traffic to one lane through the work zone at the following locations. Work is being performed by the ODOT Van Wert County maintenance garage:
State Route 697 throughout Van Wert County
State Route 49 south of U.S. 224 to Willshire
State Route 637 closure between Feasby Wisener Road and Elm Sugar Grove Church Road has been delayed indefinitely due to flooding and will be rescheduled.
U.S. 30 from just east of township Road 127 to just east of county Road 185 restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement and joint repair and drainage improvements. Resurfacing of the pavement will follow the repair work. Work is being performed by Shelly Company, Findlay.
