The following is highway construction scheduled to occur within Defiance, Paulding, Putnam and Van Wert Counties.
Defiance:
State Route 2/state Route 49 within the village of Hicksville will close August 1 for approximately two weeks for excavation of a manhole. Traffic detoured onto state Route 18, U.S. 127 and U.S. 24 back to state Route 2 and state Route 49. Work is being performed by Vernon Nagel Construction, Napoleon, for the village of Hicksville.
State Route 18 between township Road 115 and Glenberg Road will close beginning August 28 for culvert replacements at three locations: two located west of Sherwood, one east of Sherwood. Work is being performed by Vernon Nagel Construction, Napoleon. Closures will occur consecutively as follows:
Culvert #1, located between Cicero Road and Rosedale Road, will close August 28 for 25 days. Traffic detoured onto state Route 2, state Route 249 and U.S. 127 back to state Route 18.
Culvert #2, located between Openlander Road and Behnfeldt Road, will close for 25 days following completion of culvert #1. Traffic detoured onto state Route 2, state Route 249 and U.S. 127 back to state Route 18.
Culvert #3, located between Flickinger Road and Glenberg Road, will close for 30 days following completion of culvert #2. Traffic detoured onto U.S. 24 and U.S. 127 back to state Route 18.
U.S. 24 westbound at Baltimore Street, Defiance, is restricted to one lane through the work zone through early September for repair of the roadside slope. Work is being performed by Miller Brothers, Archbold. The following closure is related to the project:
The entrance ramp from Baltimore Street to westbound U.S. 24 closed July 10 for approximately 60 days. Traffic will be detoured onto U.S. 24 eastbound to its interchange with state Route 15/state Route 18 back to U.S. 24 westbound. The ramp was to close initially for one day only, but due to concerns with traffic merging onto U.S. 24, the ramp will now remain closed for the duration of the project.
State Route 66 between Bowman and Watson roads, south of Defiance, closed June 5 for approximately three months for a bridge deck replacement. Traffic detoured onto state Route 613, state Route 634, state Route 15 and Carter Road back to state Route 66. Work is being performed by Vernon Nagel Inc., Napoleon.
U.S. 127 between state Route 18 and township Road 34, south of Sherwood, is closed for culvert replacements at two locations. The route is expected to reopen to traffic early in the week. Traffic detoured onto U.S. 24, state Route 15 and state Route 18 back to U.S. 127. Work is being performed by VTF Construction, Celina.
Paulding:
State Route 637 in the village of Grover Hill closed June 5 for three months for road reconstruction. Traffic detoured onto U.S. 224, U.S. 127 and state Route 613 back to state Route 637. Work is being performed by Brenneman Excavating Inc. for the village of Grover Hill. (See detour map)
State Route 114 just east of state Route 66 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for drainage tile repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT Paulding County maintenance garage.
Putnam:
State Route 190 just north of township Road Q, north of Fort Jennings, will close July 31 for approximately two weeks for a culvert replacement. Traffic detoured onto state Route 634 and U.S. 224 back to state Route 190. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage.
Van Wert:
U.S. 33 from the Indiana state line to the Mercer County line
State Route 118 from the Mercer County line to Ervin Street
State Route 49 from the Mercer County line to the U.S. 33 overlap
State Route 81 from the Indiana state line to U.S. 33
U.S. 224 from township Road 77 to the CSX railroad
Berm repair will take place at the following locations with traffic restricted to one lane through the work zone. Work is being performed by the ODOT Van Wert County maintenance garage:
State Route 49 from Willshire to U.S. 224
State Route 117 throughout Van Wert County
State Route 81 west of state Route 118 to Willshire
U.S. 30 is restricted to one lane through the work zone at the following locations for projects which will repair the pavement and joints, improve drainage and resurface the route. Work is being performed by Shelly Company, Findlay:
From just east of township Road 127 to just east of county Road 185.
From U.S. 224 to near the Indiana state line
