Pickle Ball Seminar Big Success

Pickle ball is the fastest growing sport in the United States and over thirty people attended the introduction of pickle ball to Antwerp, August 1, at the Antwerp tennis court.

Tim and Lisa Derck and family gave a background on the game, explained rules and gave instructions, assisted by Tony and Kay Langham. All those assembled had a chance to play the game for the first time and had a great time.

The Antwerp Rotary recently rebuilt the aging tennis court and added pickle ball lines to encourage the expanded opportunity for both games to be played.

If the first gathering is any indication, many local people will be enjoying this new activity. We will continue to play on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 – 8:00 at the tennis court, weather permitting. If interest continues to grow we will be able to move play into MAC this fall for inside play through winter.

This is open to all who want to have fun, so just show up, have some fun and get a little exercise!  For more information call: 419-506-0171.
