The EACS Board recently recognized the EACS Technology Department. The technology team shut down the entire network: phone systems, computer systems, copier systems, and district Internet for 9 days, from July 2 to the afternoon of July 10 while they moved from Park Hill over to New Haven Elementary.
A combination of 179 virtual servers and 36 physical servers, totaling 215 servers were systematically shut down, moved, installed, and rebooted, and tested to make sure they were in working order.
The physical move is still going on, as they are still moving tools, people, and equipment over to New Haven Elementary. In the end, they will have moved their department, and the technology tools of the Department of Student Services, the Department of Special Services, and the Curriculum Department.
They have also purchased, inventoried, asset tagged, and, especially with the help of summer workers, are in the process of casing 4,840 new iPads for the K-6 students. They have wired and bricked all K-6 storage/charging carts/cabinets in all K-6 classrooms, and they are ready and awaiting the arrival of the iPads.
They also found time to install new Brightlink projectors in 12 classrooms
