Warriors roll on with win over Patriots
Woodlan led 19-0 at halftime and cruised from there to a 47-6 win over Jay County in high school football action Friday night in Allen County.
The Warriors led 6-0 after one quarter and extended the lead to 19-0 at the break. Woodlawn pushed the margin to 33-6 at the end of three periods before recording the 47-6 victory.
Woodlan posted 20 first downs in the contest compared to Jay County’s eight and the Warriors totaled 470 yards of total offense compared to the Patriots’ 157.
Justin Durkes completed 17 of 21 passes for 273 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Warrior offense.
Jack Rhoades ran for 151 yards on 17 carries to top the Warrior rushing attack, including one touchdown run.
Donald Guerrant was the top receiver for the Warriors with nine receptions for 173 yards while Ahlan Howard totaled four receptions for 83 yards.
Seb Speeth paced the Woodlan defense with a dozen tackles while Rhoades, Guerrant and Isaac Meyer all had eight stops.
Woodlan makes the long trip on Saturday as the Warriors travel to Lima Stadium to take on Lima Central Catholic. The Thunderbirds come into the game at 4-1 on the season and have outscored their opponents

The Lady Archers took on Holgate Tuesday, September 19 at home for a Green Meadows Conference volleyball match. The first two sets were incredibly close, both going into overtime (must win by 2 points). Antwerp over Holgate: 26-24, 27-25, 25-19 in three sets. Records – Antwerp (12-1 overall, 3-0 GMC); Holgate (5-6 overall, 0-3 GMC).

Mustangs Take Volleyball Match
The Lady Panthers travelled to Allen East for Volleyball on Thursday, September 21. The Lady Mustangs won a 5 set match over Paulding: 19-25, 25-20, 25-17, 24-26, 15-13 in a very close victory for teams that were pretty much equal.
Paulding is now 5-6 overall and 1-2 in the Northwest Conference.
