Hog Run = Housing - Join 5k!
Every year Habitat for Humanity of Paulding County hosts a “Hog Run” 5K and this year is no different. You are invited to participate to help fund future Habitat projects. This year the house being built is in Antwerp.
Last year, over 130 people participated from 18 different cities in 2 states. The runners said they enjoyed the course, the level of organization and fun family atmosphere. Most folks stayed for the community Hog Roast and gave rave reviews of the meal.
All proceeds from the 5K Race and 2 Mile Walk/Run are used to support building Habitat Homes in Paulding County. This is a great opportunity for you to be able to get involved in your community and help those in need be able to get the home they have desired.
Habitat for Humanity does not “give” away houses, but they enable people who many not be able to get a house in a traditional manner to get one and to put in hard work, making it their home.
Habitat says, “Come join us for a beautiful 5K Run/Walk through historic downtown Paulding Ohio or a family friendly 2 mile walk through our beautiful fairgrounds. The 3.1 mile open course is charted and timed by the Toledo Running Club. Water stations will be set up along the course. All adults who pre-register are guaranteed a Hog Run T-Shirt and everyone who completes the 5K Run/Walk gets a custom Finisher’s Medal. All children participating in the 2 mile walk get a participant medal. Awards will be given to the top 3 finishers in each age/gender group. Packet Pick-Up starts at 9:00 a.m. on the day of the race at the Paulding County Fairgrounds.
A Hog Roast, complete with all the trimmings, including Cupcakes by Michelle, will be served after the race for a free will donation. There will be face painting, pumpkin painting and lots of activities for the kids. Last year about $16,000 was raised for Habitat.
