Bulldogs blank Eagles to move to 6-0
The New Haven football team improved its record to 6-0 on the season with a 48-7 win over Columbia City Friday night.
New Haven led 27-0 after one quarter of action and expanded the lead to 40-0 at the break in cruising to the victory.
The Bulldogs finished the night with 346 yards of total offense, getting 182 yards on the ground while adding 164 via the passing attack.
Stephen Owens led the way for New Haven with 135 yards on a dozen carries, including one for a score. Jamarr Hutchins and Antwone Washington also had touchdown runs for the Bulldogs.
Quarterback Tim Jordan was 8 of 13 passing for 105 yards and a score to top the Bulldog passing attack. Hutchins finished three of three for 26 yards and Bryan Sexton was three of seven for 33 yards.
James Gardner topped the New Haven receiving corps with six catches for 61 yards and Zel Banks picked up three receptions for 49 yards.
Anthony Lepera and Tyler Wilson both had seven tackles to lead the New Haven defense and Treyon Boys had six stops.
Chris Scheid, Jonyvan Johnson and Dayvion Harris all picked up interceptions for the Bulldogs with Kentrel Thomas and Treyon Boyd each picking up a fumble recovery.
New Haven returns to action on Friday when the Bulldogs visit Bellmont.
