The Woodlan FFA Chapter recently held their 20th Annual Community Chili Supper and Chapter Chili Cook-off Event held in the Woodlan Jr.-Sr. High School auditeria. FFA members chose their groups and were assigned tables. Seventeen groups secured their secret recipe and diligently worked on making their unique Chili-Cook off dish.

The event started with the Officers presenting the FFA Opening Ceremony.  After reciting their duties Alissa Hubbart, chapter Secretary, called the roll of members and guest. There were 55 members and 80 guests present in attendance along with the Woodlan FFA Chapter’s special guest, Natalie Taylor.

Natalie is this year’s Indiana State FFA Reporter. As the night proceeded, guests and members tasted a variety of chilies. Guests voted for their favorite Chili and secret judges also voted on the different chili dishes. The team with the most votes won the People’s Choice Award along with the Judge’s Choice Award. While the votes were tallied, Mr. Eric Ashliman, representative from sponsoring business Horizon Bank,  East Allen Count Schools Superintendent, Mrs. Hissong, Principal Kammeyer, Ms. Heffernan, and Mrs. Spieth, were thanked for their service and support and were presented with a token of the Chapter’s appreciation.

After presenting Discovery Degrees to the seventh and eighth graders and Greenhand Degrees and jackets to Freshmen, the winners of the Chili Cook Off winners were announced. The Woodlan FFA Chapter is proud to announce that this year marked the 20th annual Woodlan FFA Chili Cook-Off and Community Chili Supper event.
