An Open House was held on Wednesday, October 4 at Paulding County Hospital’s new facility: the latest piece in the puzzle for better women’s health.
The new digital mammography imaging center as it is now, cost $200,000+ with another $80,000 to convert the existing room to a suite and implement into the hospital. What this expense means is that it will bring better imaging, more detail and more comfort all at the same time for women who are getting their annual mammograms. Current statistics show that 1 in 8 women will get breast cancer, and the current five year survival rate is 100%.
CEO Randy Ruge stated that there would be an available upgrade option by Fuji, maker of the new mammogram machine, that will allow 3-D imaging, and will hopefully be added soon.
As a reminder, the hospital would like to let people know that October is breast cancer awareness month and that they are scheduling appointments to help those women who need to get their mammogram scheduled.
