Paulding, Ohio: Leslie J. Weidenhamer age 72 died October 25, 2017 at his residence with his family by his side.
Leslie was born in Napoleon, Ohio on June 26, 1945 the son of Bernard and Vivian (Coressel) Weidenhamer who preceded him in death. On June 6, 1964 he married Sandra M. (Bowholtz) Weidenhamer who survives.
He retired from GM Powertrain-General Motors Corp of Defiance Ohio in 2006 after 46 ½ years of service. He was a skilled laborer for foundry services by trade. Les served on the Paulding Village Council for many years and was an acting mayor. Les loved history and became involved with the John Paulding Historical Society in the late 70’s and became President for 22 years. He was a member of the BTA, NRA, Paulding Fish and Game Club, Paulding VFW Post #587 and was a Hunter Safety Instructor. He was a member of the former St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Junction, Ohio before becoming a member of the Divine Mercy Catholic Parish o Paulding, Ohio.
Surviving his wife Sandy, one daughter: Amy (Tim) Borkosky of Van Wert, Ohio, three sons: Brad of Paulding, Ohio, Bruce (Shellie) of rural Cecil, Ohio and Al (his dear friend Lyn Collis). Grandchildren: Mark (Whitney), Dayne (Michelle), Ce Ce, Jordan, Tessa, a grandson due in December and Kaden Clark. Great Granddaughters: Brooklyn Rose and Jace Avery. One brother: Eugene (Linda) Weidenhamer of Defiance, Ohio.
He is preceded in death by his son: Bryan Allen in 1968, his parents, two brothers: David and Daniel and one sister Karen Brown on September 28, 2017.
Mass of Christian burial will be conducted 11:00AM Monday, October 30, 2017 at the Divine Mercy Catholic Parish Church Paulding, Ohio. Rev. John Stites will officiate. Burial will be in Live Oak Cemetery Paulding, Ohio. Visitation will be Sunday, October 29, 2017 at the DenHerder Funeral Home Paulding, Ohio from 2:00 to 8:00 PM with a wake service at 7:30 PM.
