For the past month the Woodlan Introduction to Agriculture and SAE students have been working hard to prepare for an exciting event. The Woodlan FFA Chapter’s annual Wabash/Erie Canal Day Demonstrations were once again a success.
600 elementary students from nine local schools attended the event. The elementary students were taught about old tools, candling, washing laundry, tractors, log cabins, cooking, tiling, and more through 15 student lead demonstrations. 97 Woodlan FFA members participated in the Wabash/Erie Canal Day event. At the end of the day, each elementary students took home their treasures which included a candle they made, a pumpkin they decorated, and an American flag. The Woodlan FFA Chapter enjoys hosting this event annually and can’t wait for next year.
