ANTWERP, OH
Avery Allen Hook Sr. age 74 died Wednesday, December 13, 2017.
He was born February 12, 1943 in Paulding, the son of Henry and Margaret (Kerns) Hook. On February0 13, 1962 he married Janet (Lehman) Hook, who preceded him in death on September 26, 1997. He retired in 2008 from LaFarge Corporation after 40+ years. He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his children: Allen (Linda) Hook Jr., Antwerp, Debra Lehman, Cecil, Dawn (Ralph) McDougal, Leipsic, Stacy (Jeff) Betzer, Cecil, and Kelly (John) Jones, Antwerp; brother, Thomas L. Hook, Payne; 10 grandchildren: Barry Hook, Michael (Buffie) Hook, James (Markie) Betzer, Caris Hook, Samantha (Kelsey) Johnston, Jessica (Nate) Smith, and Avery Hook II, Cash Hook, Tabitha Jones and MaKenna Jones; 5 great grandchildren: Cainan Carlisle, Katie Hook, Karleigh Hook, Emma Betzer and Jade Betzer; and a great-great granddaughter.
He is also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Diana Lynn Hook; and sisters, Joann Highwarden and Dorita Lynch.
Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 AM Friday, December 15 at Paulding Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Jeremy Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, Paulding.
Visitation will be Thursday, from 4 – 8PM, December 14 at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding. There will also be visitation on Friday at the church from 9:30 AM until service time.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
