A pair of games over the weekend went the wrong way for the Antwerp boys basketball team as the Archers fell to both Fort Jennings and Fayette last weekend.
Against the Eagles, the Archers fell behind 11-2 after one quarter and were unable to recover as Fayette posted a 51-39 victory.
The visitors from Fulton County led 22-8 at halftime and took a 32-18 advantage into the fourth quarter.
Luke Brewer led the way for the Archers with 10 points while Jayvin Landers and Cole Seslar both chipped in 8 markers. Ty Rebber added 5 points with Boston Dunderman posting 4. Brayton Stuckey and Ashton Barnhouse both picked up 2 markers as well.
The Eagles won the battle of the boards 21-18 while Antwerp had 2 more turnovers in the game, 14-12. Each team was 13 of 31 from the field (42 percent).
Fayette took advantage of a big difference at the free throw line, hitting 21 of 28 (75 percent) compared to Antwerp’s 7 of 11 (64 percent).
On Friday night, Antwerp dropped a 62-42 decision to the Musketeers of Fort Jennings.
Seslar topped the Archer scorers with 15 points followed by Brewer with 10 and Rebber adding in 8. Dunderman (4), Stuckey (3) and Landers (2) picked up the remaining Archer points.
Seslar and Brewer each grabbed 9 rebounds for the blue and white as well.
Antwerp returns to action on Saturday when it hits the road to Continental.
