Antwerp Middle School held its spelling bee on Friday, December 15, 2017, at 1:30 p.m. in the auditeria. Fifteen sixth through eighth grade students competed for a chance to represent the Archers in the Paulding County Spelling Bee. After 12 rounds, eighth grader Gaige McMichael won the bee by spelling the words “callous” and “dexterity” correctly. Eighth grader Kelsie Puckett was the runner-up. McMichael will represent Antwerp Middle School at the Paulding County Spelling Bee on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. in the Antwerp Local School auditeria. In the event that McMichael cannot attend, Puckett will represent the school.
